ElCoronel.com

I've recently abandoned the blog I had here because it was just taking up space. Most of you are just looking for my family photos or are here by accident. A very small number of you might be here for other reasons - you're a potential employer, old friend wondering what I'm up to or are a web spider just trolling the internet. Anyways, I think I've got all the bases covered below. Thanks for stopping by. :-)

About Me

I am currently employed by IHS Enterprise Solutuions as a Solaris systems adminstrator managing several Sunfire v880s, 240rs, a Sunfire 12K, Storedge 6320, Sun/Hitachi 9990 and lots of other odd pieces of kit. We store and provide 24/7 accessibility to critical documents and data for global customers. Before this, I was employed by VA Software (formerly VA Linux Systems) as a Site Director for Themes.org, which at the time was the single best source of interface tweaks for open source based GUIs. In that capacity I managed a team of employees and volunteers as well as doing interface and web design.

I also do freelance graphic and web design in my spare time. Here are some of the sites I've worked on:
Gleemax Forum for Wizards of the Coast
Voice of Children Ministries - non-profit, non-denominational children and women's ministry
I Am More Than - volunteer networking site
On Target Paintball GA - local paintball field
Team Divinity - local paintball team

I am a supporter of Free / Open Source software. I have used Linux since about 1997 with it being my primary (and sometimes only) desktop operating system since about 1999. I even do all of my graphic and web design using open source software, such as GIMP and Inkscape.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and have very nearly completed a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. You may download my resume by clicking on this link.

I live in the southeast but am originally from IN. I enjoy playing paintball, cooking and eating BBQ, fiddling with web graphics and the occasional computer game. I would probably be more into outdoor activities if it wasn't so damned hot here. >:(

I am married to an insanely understanding woman and have three awesome kids. You can view photos of family, friends and silly stuff by following this link. I haven't added in photos in a long time, though. :-(
